Nothing Vision (1) Concept
What if Nothing made an XR headset?

I’ve been kicking around a scenario lately: if another tech brand entered the spatial computing space today, who would actually bring something fresh to the table? Nothing immediately came to mind.
This is a purely fun, "dream device" concept for the Nothing Vision (1). I wanted to balance Nothing’s signature aesthetic with a few "wouldn't this be cool?" hardware ideas, such as a single 180° center camera setup, rear counterweighted hot-swappable batteries, and swappable faceplates.
While I tried to keep the tech somewhat rooted in what's technically possible, this isn't a strict supply-chain analysis. I haven't calculated the BOM. This is just a fun creative exploration of what a design-first XR headset could look like from Nothing.
And there's no way it would be called the "Vision (1)" due to Apple trademarks.

Vision (1)
Pure Spatial Computing. No fluff. No over-engineered clutter. Just transparent tech stripped back to its purest, most functional form.
Swappable Shells
- Transparent personal canvas. The clear front faceplate unclips effortlessly, letting you transform the aesthetic of Vision (1) in seconds.
- Curated drops. Express your style through an evolving ecosystem of tint gradients, graphic prints, and exclusive artist collaborations.
- Exposed internals, your way. Modular design that keeps the raw engineering visible while giving you complete ownership over your look.
Glyph Interface (XR Edition)
- Light as communication. Integrated front-facing light strips convey status, activity, and notifications to the world around you.
- Custom glyph signatures. Assign distinct light patterns for specific apps, active calls, or "Do Not Disturb" modes.
- Expressive utility. Subtle visual cues that bring Nothing’s signature design language into spatial environments.
Nothing OS (Vision)
- Intentionally distraction-free. Built on a spatial evolution of Nothing OS, bringing our dot-matrix design language, instant Phone integration, and bloatware-free philosophy into 3D space.
- Glanceable, synced widgets. Floating, monochrome widgets — and apps bridged seamlessly from your Nothing Phone — anchor natively to your real-world environment, keeping your clock, weather, and active phone notifications right where you need them.
- Spatial Pop-up View. Multitask effortlessly with lightweight, resizable 2D app windows alongside immersive spatial experiences without breaking your flow.
- Privacy-first spatial mapping. Your room mesh and tracking data stay locally encrypted on-device. Spatial intelligence, strictly controlled by you.
3-Eye Tracking Array
- One main eye. A single, high-precision 180° fisheye lens sits center stage, anchoring your 6DoF head tracking with zero overhead.
- Smart triangulation. Two low-profile bottom cameras eliminate blind spots, mapping peripheral zones and floor-level hand movements.
- Stereo depth without LiDAR. Software-driven pixel matching calculates instant 3D depth to the millimeter. Less hardware weight. Low power draw. Maximum precision.
Power & Balance
- Counterweighted architecture. The primary 5,000 mAh battery is housed in the rear strap, shifting mass away from your face for effortless, natural balance.
- Hot-swappable uninterrupted flow. A dedicated front-facing reserve cell keeps system state active. Tap to unlock the rear bay, swap power cells on the fly, and stay in session.
- Frictionless power down. Lay Vision (1) resting inverted on any surface to auto-trigger sleep mode. Pick it up for instantaneous Quick Resume.
Seamless Audio & Docking
- Sub-20ms audio pairing. Custom ultra-low latency wireless chip designed for instant, zero-lag audio with Ear (3x).
- Minimalist I/O. Bottom-mounted USB-C port for sitting flush on the Vision Dock (sold separately), or resting inverted in sleep mode.
